The festival

What is High Five! Doha?

High Five! Doha is a creative outdoor festival at The Backyard, Sheraton Grand Doha. Independent makers, art, vinyl, vintage finds, street food and music come together in one garden.

A day of discoveries

The experience is designed around browsing and meeting people. You can move from a maker’s stall to the Art Wall, explore the Vinyl Market or discover a pre-loved piece at the Garage Sale. Each part of the festival adds a different way to connect with Doha’s independent creative community.

Room to stay a while

At the centre is a social lawn with rugs, beanbags and low tables. Bring your food back to friends, compare your finds and listen to the music. The two-day festival format gives shopping, culture and time together an equal place in the afternoon.

Discover the idea behind High Five

Who creates the festival, and how is it curated?

High Five! Doha is created by ARTLIVE, drawing on around 20 years of international entertainment experience to bring a personal, carefully considered creative festival to Qatar.

People with a point of view

The team looks for independent brands, artists, collectors and food concepts with a clear identity. Quality, presentation and the story behind the work all matter. A small collection can be a strong fit when its owner can explain what makes the pieces interesting and how they would be shared with visitors.

A connected experience

Curation also means considering how the different parts belong together. The market, art, record crates, food counters and music contribute to the same garden atmosphere. High Five is designed around recurring editions, with room for new creative connections while keeping its relaxed, social character.

Food, art & discoveries

What is the street food experience at High Five?

Street food is one of the main parts of High Five! Doha. Independent food concepts sit alongside the creative market, with the social lawn giving everyone somewhere to stop and eat.

Follow your appetite

The food direction includes savoury bites, sweets, coffee and refreshing drinks suited to an outdoor festival. The idea is an easy garden afternoon: pick up lunch, try something between stalls or share a bite with friends as the music moves through the lawn. Food and drinks are purchased separately from admission.

Check the details that matter to you

Individual menus and food participants have not been announced on the site. If you have a particular dietary requirement, ask the team before planning around a dish or cuisine. Food businesses can also introduce their menu and service style through the Food concept enquiry category.

Talk to us about food

What can art and design lovers discover?

Art is woven into the festival through the Art Wall and independent creative stalls. Paintings, illustration, photography, prints and contemporary design are part of the High Five concept.

Meet the work and its maker

Start with a colour or a detail that catches your eye. Take a moment to look closely, ask about the artist’s process and hear the idea behind a piece. Original work sits within the wider garden experience, alongside makers, music and places to spend time with friends.

For artists joining the conversation

Artists and designers can introduce their work through the Artist / performer enquiry category. Share a portfolio, a few representative pieces and a short explanation of your medium and approach. The team reviews each introduction; submitting work does not automatically confirm an exhibition space or participation.

Introduce your art or design

Can I browse and buy vinyl records at the festival?

The Vinyl Market is part of High Five! Doha, bringing record collectors, sellers and selectors together around the crates. It is a place to browse, talk about music and discover records.

More than a quick browse

The festival’s musical direction includes soul, disco, jazz, funk, Arabic classics and unexpected discoveries. Ask a collector about a favourite pressing or follow a recommendation into something you have not heard before. Browsing records can lead to a conversation about an artist, a sleeve or the music that first caught someone’s attention.

Selections vary by seller

Records are purchased separately from your festival ticket. Titles, editions, prices and availability depend on the participating collections. Ask the seller about a record’s condition and pressing before buying. Collectors who would like to take part can introduce their selection through Garage Sale / Vinyl Market.

Introduce your record collection

What is the Garage Sale, and what might I find?

The High Five Garage Sale gives carefully selected pre-loved pieces a chance to find a new home. Private collections bring vintage clothing, cameras, books, records, décor and collectable objects into the festival.

The pleasure of an unexpected find

If you enjoy a yard sale, the familiar pleasure is looking closely and finding something with character. At High Five, the selection is curated around condition, presentation and the story a seller can share. You might explore a small group of interesting everyday objects or a collection built around a particular interest.

Take time with the details

Ask the seller about an item’s condition, history and price before deciding to buy. Each collection is different, and the examples on the site describe the direction of the Garage Sale rather than a guaranteed inventory. Purchases from sellers are separate from festival admission.

Can I discover handmade gifts and independent brands?

The creative market brings together local makers and independent brands, with original objects and thoughtful design at its heart. It is a place to look for something personal and meet the people behind it.

A more personal present

The market direction includes independent fashion, jewellery, ceramics, fragrance, books, prints and home objects. Talking to a maker about materials or a collection can help you choose a gift with a story. A small handmade piece or an unexpected vintage find can be as memorable as the conversation that led you to it.

Let the selection surprise you

Gifts and candles are among the categories makers can submit for consideration. The selection for each edition depends on the participating makers and their collections. Contact the team if you are looking for something specific, or browse with an open mind and see what catches your eye.

What music is part of High Five?

Music runs through the High Five experience, from vinyl DJs beside the record culture to a neoclassical grand piano performance on the lawn at golden hour.

A soundtrack through the garden

The vinyl DJ direction brings soul, funk, disco and unexpected discoveries into the afternoon. You can browse to the beat, watch the selectors at work or spend time with friends around the lawn. Music connects the stalls and social spaces, giving the outdoor festival a rhythm that changes as the day unfolds.

A moment to listen together

The piano concept creates a shared pause as the light turns gold, with people gathering on rugs and beanbags beneath the palms. Individual performers and a detailed timetable have not been announced on the site. Musicians and performers can introduce recordings and an outline of their work to the team.

How can a maker or food business apply for a stall?

Independent makers, emerging brands and food concepts can introduce themselves through the enquiry form. Choose Vendor for a brand or maker, and Food concept for a food or drink proposal.

Show what you would bring

Share clear product photos, a collection overview or a proposed menu, together with a short introduction to your work. Useful links help the team understand your identity and presentation. Food applicants should also describe their preparation and service approach, dietary information, and any power, water, refrigeration or equipment needs.

Discuss the practical fit

Include display dimensions, fixtures, staffing and other requirements that affect your stall. The team reviews each application alongside the balance of the festival. Participation formats, available infrastructure and operating arrangements are discussed with selected applicants; sending a form does not reserve or confirm a place.

Read the vendor application guide

Can I join the Garage Sale or sell my vinyl collection?

Yes, collectors and individuals can introduce a considered selection without having an established brand. Choose Garage Sale / Vinyl Market in the enquiry form so the team can review what you would bring.

Give a clear view of your collection

For pre-loved items, describe the types of pieces, their condition and how you would display them. A representative set of photos is more useful than a vague list. For vinyl records, explain the genres, the character of the selection and a few highlights that show your musical perspective.

Selection comes before confirmation

The team considers quality, care, presentation and how each collection fits the overall mix. A small, coherent selection can be a useful starting point for the conversation. Your display needs and participation details are discussed directly if there is a suitable opportunity. An enquiry alone does not reserve selling space.

Share your collection

How can brands, cultural organisations or media partners get involved?

High Five develops partnerships around a contribution visitors can experience. Brands, cultural organisations, communities and creative media teams can propose a role that belongs naturally in the festival.

Start with the idea

A proposal might support an artistic contribution, a welcoming social space, a food experience or stories about the makers and collectors. Describe the people you want to connect with, the purpose of the collaboration and what your team could bring. Specific ideas make it easier to explore a useful role together.

Agree the scope together

The conversation can cover the creative concept, practical needs, responsibilities, brand presence and any content deliverables. Media partners can discuss photography, film, interviews and editorial storytelling. These are opportunities to develop with the team, rather than activities already confirmed for an edition. Each partnership is agreed individually before it is announced or delivered.
